For the record

Somehow I felt compelled to write a new post for this obsolete blog. I thought of deleting it but just what's the harm of keeping it dormant? Then some days back, I was given a link to my blog regarding an incident which happened almost 4 years ago. Nostalgic as it may be, it got us laughing and reminiscing the past.

Then it dawned onto me: THAT's the purpose of a blog. Never at the point of writing would I expect it to be such a fond memory. So much has happened since then. Gained a lot, and lost a lot too. All of us are now at a point of a life changing decision: some deciding to embark on postgrad studies, others will join the deluge workforce.

Life is full of surprises, for the better of for the worse, but no matter what life brings, let's not forget the present, and the past, and cherish the moments we have cause not everything lasts, even things which we think would have.

And heck, not to mention how lame this blog's name and URL is, but hey, it's the person I was almost 3 years ago. As bashful as I am regarding the name of this blog and some of the posts, those are supposed to be reminder of the person who we are in the past right?

At one point where you sit down looking around, and really wonder upon some issues....When you are all alone and the wind is blowing. You really wonder why are you here and isn't the current what you wanted all along?

This town is colder now, I think it's sick of us
It's time to make our move, I'm shakin off the rust
I've got my heart set on anywhere but here
I'm staring down myself, counting up the years
Steady hands, just take the wheel...
And every glance is killing me
Time to make one last appeal... for the life I lead

Stop and stare
I think I'm moving but I go nowhere
Yeah I know that everyone gets scared
But I've become what I can't be, oh
Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you're 'here' not there
And you'd give anything to get what's fair
But fair ain't what you really need
Oh, can u see what I see

They're tryin to come back, all my senses push
Un-tie the weight bags, I never thought I could...
Steady feet, don't fail me now
Gonna run till you can't walk
But something pulls my focus out
And I'm standing down...

Stop and stare
I think I'm moving but I go nowhere
Yeah I know that everyone gets scared
But I've become what I can't be, oh
Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you're here not there
And you'd give anything to get what's fair
But fair ain't what you really need
Oh, you don't need

What u need, what u need...

Stop and stare
I think I'm moving but I go nowhere
Yeah I know that everyone gets scared
But I've become what I can't be
Oh, do u see what I see...

Melbourne in A Day

Now that I'm finally here there are things I enjoy pretty much, yet there are things which I miss pretty much also.

The experience here is definitely gonna be rich. But there's one which I thought which would be pretty fun but had to give that up =p

It has been 2 long days for me so I'm gonna sum things up:

  • Chicks here are various, from one end of the spectrum to the other. Plus sized is really common here, so hipposeed, this really is a place for you because it makes you look REALLY MUCH BETTER here.
  • Despite being so large, Uni Melbourne is very accessible unlike UTP. The building's are pretty classical (not as classical as Oxbridge) and weather being pleasant, its really nice to just stroll around uni and even better sleep under a tree.
Somewhere I belong
Clock Tower
  • Food is awesome. Really spoilt with choice here and the only limit will be how deep a hole your wallet can withstand.
  • Transportation is unlike Malaysia. One ticket can be used for bus trams and trains. And here without a car, you still have your legs.
but this is one you can't find in Melbourne =)

WHY MUST KNOW HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH ?

One day, an Ang Moh from USA arrived at KLIA Airport.
After he checked out from the customs,
he felt he needed to go to the toilet, so he looked for one.

When he found the toilet, there was a lady sitting at the entrance.
When he was about to enter the toilet,
the lady stopped him and asked for forty cents in Cantonese ('sey kok').
The Mat Salleh wondered why in MALAYSIA
they have to 'see the cock' before entering the toilet?
So he said 'no' but the lady insisted.
Since he had no choice, he took out his cock and showed it to her.

The lady said 'No! No! Duit, Duit!' (money in Malay),
but the Ang Moh misunderstood again and thought that she said ' Do it! Do it ! '
So he asked, 'Now? Here?'
The lady replied 'Yes, yes!' because she doesn't quite understand English.

The Ang Moh thought that she wanted to have sex with him,
so he stripped the lady and made love to her.
The lady started screaming and shouted, 'SAKIT!SAKIT!' (pain in Malay),
and the Ang Moh thought it was 'SUCK IT! SUCK IT!'

He said 'OK! I will suck it for you' and took both breasts and suck them.
The lady again screamed 'Oh, TUHAN!' (Oh, MY GOD....in Malay).
The Ang Moh misunderstood again. 'Too HARD?
OK, sweetheart, I'll be gentler a bit,' the Ang Moh replied.

Suddenly, a security guard walked by, so the lady shouted for help,
'TOLONG! TOLONG, ENCIK!'
The Ang Moh replied, 'Not too long, just 6 inches only.'

Fly Kite

I called ESU Petronas, requesting that they will extend my scholarship to cover my cost upon embarking on this Study Abroad Program, whereby I'll be studying in the University of Melbourne for a semester. Though its a short one semester the total cost is exorbitant.

Keeping a polite and hopeful tune, I called Mr Asridin our student advisor to UTP based scholars.

Me : Sir, will Petronas be able to sponsor my course of study in Melbourne considering I'm the only one embarking on this program and my good track record.
Asridin : No I don't think so. But we working with UTP to send students over under the same program later on in the year.
Me : So does this mean Petronas will only sponsor the coming batch and not mine this time. I'm surprised why ESU does not sponsor this batch which I'm going on, but the previous and the coming ones. Can't anything be done sir?
Asridin : No I'm afraid not. Too bad for you. Its just pure bad timing.

I was very indignant when I heard that. Yeah its bad timing and though luck, but that doesn't mean I have to be told that apart from being spoken to in a tone as if I was a beggar. I wasn't really indignant or mad when I heard they will not be sponsoring, but in the later part of the conversation when that whole conversation took place I was blown off.

I'm a student you are my advisor. Where's your professionalism. At least decline me in a better manner. And once I said thank you, he slammed the phone. Well probably they think its not worth spending money on me because I'm not good enough for them, ain't it.

Well, at least thanks Mr Asridin for even taking time to talk to me.

When Life Gets Painted with Coulours

I always dreaded this place. This was the imaginary painting in my mind:

I was pretty much alone when I first got there, and never really enjoyed my stay there. Not until I met this jakoon:

I used to think he was a stuck up, but God knows how we were good friends at an instant, more known as the swimming duo. The following semester we are room mates.

Then came along my 3 pets:

Meet my cat@hipo@elephant@too many (animorph)
Meet donut@koala
Meet koala no 2(I think)

Life was never the same again. This semester I'm not in Uni and I hate to admit it but I think I'm beginning to miss it now, and as my friend put it, its the people you meet there who colours your experience and life in the university.

My other coursemates and friends too are people who make my stay in uni different (don't really have much pics of you guys, but I'm sure you know who you are)

Time passes but not our relationship. The good times that we had together are priceless, only to remain in my memory.

Signs of The Lunar New Year

1. The saying 年年有余 is prevalent in your home. Seems like we really have 'yu' this year. This poor fish has been swimming upside down for 3 months in my mom's pond.

2. You have a stash of cookies, or more specifically for the Lunar New Year pineapple tarts stock piled in a corner of your house and cannot be eaten until the 1st day of the Lunar New Year

3. Training session begins to ensure that all skills are acquired and brush up before the big day hits: 'pong ah', 'kong ah', 'zi moh sek wu!' sau lui sau lui.

4. When your parents squabble over which decoration fits the house best to ensure the New Year atmosphere is felt, despite celebrating the biggest of the days in our hometown. A random
statement, I think mom has better taste. Lol.

"The greatest encouragement comes from the person you love and cherish most, yet the greatest disappointment comes from the people you love and cherish most."

Individuals go further when the person they hold dear to them are behind them. When you fall they pick you up helping you through hard times, and from that you grow to be a stronger person. When a person needs support, they seek it from these people too.

Yet, imagine when you need solace, support, encouragement and it just don't come. When this happens, it is not anger you feel, but great disappointment. At that point you just feel your life come crushing down on you with no one to pick you up helping you through. That's the worst which could be experienced by someone. Its even worst when your loved ones and the one you cherish gives you encouragement and support, but to only retract it half way.

Society nowadays are getting more stoical. No one knows the hardship one faces. So don't take things for granted. Always be a person others can lean on. Be the one who will always pick you dear ones up when they fall and give them all the support they need. This world needs more earthly encouragement and support besides a heavenly one.
